Reina Berube Obituary, Death – The community is mourning the loss of Reina “RayRay” Berube, who passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2025, at the age of 37. A lifelong Bristol resident, Reina was a cherished daughter, mother, sister, fiancée, and friend whose bright spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Born on November 12, 1987, Reina was the daughter of Brian and Donna Berube. She graduated from Bristol Eastern High School and went on to study at Brio Academy of Cosmetology, where she discovered her true passion. Her journey as a hairstylist was more than a career—it was a calling. Through her business, Hair by Rayna, and later at Nauticuts, Reina used her artistic touch and welcoming nature to help people feel beautiful inside and out.

Known for her signature warmth, Reina treated every client like family. Her philosophy was simple but profound: “Come in as a client, leave as a friend.” That sentiment echoed throughout her personal life as well. She lived with an open heart and a vibrant presence that lit up every room.

Reina’s greatest joy was being a mother to her daughter, Izabella. Their deep bond was built on love, dance, and shared dreams. Reina took great pride in Bella’s accomplishments, especially her recent steps into adulthood and higher education.

Her joy for life was contagious—whether DJing, soaking up the sun, or enjoying time with family. Her laughter and energy were the life of every party, and her absence will be deeply felt.

She is survived by her parents; siblings Michelle (Nicholas DiCicco), Leah (Antonio Whitt), and Ryan (Kara Berube); nieces and nephews Natalie, Nathan, Ella, Mila, and Julian; her fiancé Ian Kessler; their adored pets Bambi and Bruce; grandmother Elizabeth Paris; grandparents Robert and Eleanor Berube; Uncle Mike and Aunt Heather; and a wide extended family. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Michael McGowan.

Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, May 1, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, Berlin, CT. A celebration of her life will follow on Friday, May 2, at 10:00 a.m., with a private burial afterward.

Reina’s vibrant spirit, kind heart, and unforgettable smile will be missed forever—but her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
